Tattoo Icon Jack Rudy To Attend Rhode Island Tattoo ExpoDecember 3
H2Ocean Pro Team member and tattooing icon Jack Rudy will be a headlining artist Rhode Island Tattoo Expo in May.
Jack Rudy, notable for his reinvention of Black & Grey style, realistic portraits and single-needle use, is considered to be one of the top tattoo artists on the planet. A living legend in the tattoo community, Rudy has appeared on Monster Garage and is the subject of the upcoming feature length documentary film Tattoo Nation: The True Story of the Ink Revolution.
Rudy began his career as an apprentice at Goodtime Charlie’s Tattooland in East Los Angeles. Under the watch of Charlie Cartwright, Rudy began to hone his craft of single-needle, black & grey style tattoos simultaneously creating a whole new subgenre of modern tattooing and raising the proverbial bar for not only many new emerging tattoo artists, but for artists in general as well.
His very distinct and distinguishable style is renowned for its masterful use of light and dark shades of varying degrees of black and grey. In addition to creating a softer and more realistic style of tattooing with the advent of the new single needle tattoo technology, artists were now able to use a much greater level of detail than previously attainable utilizing older and more readily accepted tattoo machine and needle configurations. As the client base of East Los Angeles began requesting this "penitentiary-style", Rudy decided to create a single-needle configured tattoo machine.
Rudy is currently the owner of Tattooland located in Anaheim, CA.
